.Checkmate.

Quick idea for a competition with the theme Yorkshire Wolds. When I here that phrase all i think of is fields...and I think that pretty boring. So I tried to make this idea comical to brighten things up a bit.

.GNOME.Comp.

An idea that I started drawing a while back and I thought would work well as a design for the GNOME 3.0 t-shirt design competition. Being a bit psychedelic and crazy but also fun, I thought it was a good way of representing being able to be creative and fun whilst using the GNOME program to simplify and keep your files safe without any worry.
There are many variations of this design which can be used on different coloured t-shirts, obviously the original design would be the most expensive to make as it has lots of colours but I think it looks just as good in one or two colours. Below are a few examples of the different ways it could look and simplified sections of the design.

.Doodles.&.Dithers.

Recently art based projects have been very slow and inspiration has been in short supply. Still I continue searching the net and the wide world for stuff that could inspire me, still I carry on doodling in hope that one extra special doodle may lead to something more.

I've been continuously plowing on with the huge 'people picture' that is forever growing more and more crowded, and my latest attempts at creative inductance is tattoo's. When at a total loss it's the one thing I always go back to and it sometimes gives me the push I need to get going with other creative stuff.

Here are a few idea's/doodles I have come up with so far...

.people.gathering.

All that talk of people drawing was not exaggerated one bit, here are the line drawings of all the random people in the basics of my plan. I'm going to experiment with colour to see what works best then maybe add texture.

.The.Daughters - stage.one.

Today I started illustrating the Brothers Grimm story 'The Frog Prince' and as i usualy do simple drawings for stories this time I've decided to go all out and do detailed water colour pictures for each bit along with snazzy border. This is the start of the first image, the sentance says "Once upon a time, when wishes still came true, there lived a king who had beautiful daughters. The youngest was so lovely that even the sun, which had seen so many things, was filled with wonder when it shone upon her face."
The story doesn't specify how many daughters it just says 'daughters' so I've gone for three. This stage has already taken me at least 2 hours, it's all water colour but the border was painted in sections then layered up and placed digitaly.

ESOL

Small gallery in the lobby of HSAD, ESOL is all about teaching English to people who want to learn it, me and a few friends all created images from stories and poems they had written all about the changes they have gone through, the hardships and lives they had left behind. The opening of this small display was greatly appreciated by the people who had written the poems/stories and was viewed a lot more then I expected.
