Small gallery in the lobby of HSAD, ESOL is all about teaching English to people who want to learn it, me and a few friends all created images from stories and poems they had written all about the changes they have gone through, the hardships and lives they had left behind. The opening of this small display was greatly appreciated by the people who had written the poems/stories and was viewed a lot more then I expected.

Unfortunate Alphabet.
Ok, these are the start of my idea for an 'Unfortunate Alphabet Book' each letter will be accompanied by a rhyme that will in turn rhyme with the next paragraph on the next page. It's called 'unfortunate' because the rhymes describe children who have unfortunate things happen to them. For example.....
A is for Adrian had a big head.
B is for Bridget who fell out of bed.
C is for Calum who was on the short side.
D is for Dora who got caught in the tide.
...you get the drift. It's not just unfortunate things that happen, it might be unfortunate circumstances to to with the child or what happens.

Book Marks
Just a few book mark idea made for selling, if they are popular I will be making more, my details will be on the back so it's sorta like a business card at the same time. These are all based on pics and characters I've done in the past, a lot more can be done in a wide range but these were done in a short time.

- 'Click!' -
Ok so this blog post doesn't actually have any illustrations in it but it's still an update on my illustration stuff.
For the last few weeks I seem to have been struggling to get to grips with what I wanna do, how I should continue and what i should be getting on with. But not it's all sorta starting to 'click' together, I think I'm finlay getting my professional illustrators head on and thinking a bit more clearly. I never plan the future precisely but I do have a basic structure to which I like to stick to loosely so that I can be as free and creative as possible.
Some people say that one area of your life can effect a totally different and unrelated part of your life, as I am finally learning to sort out my problems and become more sure of what I really want so follows my illustration in a way.
My drawings can be a mix match of many things but I'm always going to subconsciously relate and connect them in to the professional side of illustration. As for when I leave college, I plan to spend the summer relaxing, filling more portfolio, entering competitions and galleries, being as creative and artistic as possible and have a look in to what Artlink can offer even if it's volunteer stuff to start with and also get a part time job to i can continue being creative, either i plan to pursue illustration as much as i can and any other work/jobs are just a thing on the sidelines.

One Of Them Days
Yer, today HAS been one of them days when all technology seems to fail, and your mind lays heavy, your trail of thought is non-existent and you might as well be sat with a giant fish on your head. So this is what I got at the end of a day when i had a very annoying cold, after looking at it for more then 3 minutes I decided that it might look good on a t-shirt, so I'm going to try it out on different colours and templates to see what I get.

Comic Book Idea.
Thought I'd try doing some short comic strips for certain parts of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz but try as I may as a comic strip I couldn't get it to work, so I mixed the whole comic book idea with my familiar story book thing and I think it works quite well.
Baring in mind the text I have on the page is from the original book but may not be in the right order and might be missing parts in between, it's just so it relates more to the images.

Croquet Set
Part of the Queens of Hearts croquet set, I thought the flamingo's didn't get enough attention in the story and would make an nice image. The main center part of this image is all acrylic painted on to masked off areas, and the border is watercolour and fine liner, there are bit of gold on this picture but they don't show up well on the scan.
