.Airship.Finish.

More work in progress, stage by stage of each little detail of the airship water colour. Over all I am happy with how this image has turned out, so much so that I'm gonna spend a long time looking for the perfect frame for it ha ha. Still no reply from Artlink about if the exhibition is open or not, but the image is ready none the less. I'm going to see if I can do some smaller ones along the same line to go with it, but if all else fails I worked really hard on this one image.

.Bon.Voyage.

Well! Bon Voyage is an upcoming exhibition at Artlink, their website says that it's open to local artists but I have still emailed them to make sure. Either way it has inspired me to create and adventure based picture which I am having fun creating even if it doesn't get in to the exhibition. So here are the first few stages of the work in progress, more to come as I carry on!

B.U.G.S

Today I've been doodling some bugs that could be used as possible paintings for tomorrows Art in the Park thing. They are made up from different bugs... I'm not sure which, but I like them. I'm going to draw some more simaler images but in more detail and have them coloured. Here are the doodles from today.

Spray.Painting.Day.One

The previous post tell of the image i have been doodling as an idea for the spray painting, this is the actual thing..well the stages of it. This is my first time trying to use spray paints and I've decided to go all out with the colour thing, the jabberwocky looks more like a dragon but i'm happy with the over all effect the spray paint is having so far. A lot of work and outlining parts need to be done along with a bit more high lighting, but that will continue on Monday, for now this is as far as I got!

Doodles.Sketches.Ideas

Doodles, sketches and idea's.
Again all to do with the mural i'm gonna be doin, these are a few sketches for the characters that will be small parts of the mural, here is the mad hatter and the queen. The next image is a quick re-sketch of the mural as my first idea was a bit to small for the wall space so i added a jabberwocky and made the image longer. The final image is the bigger drawing still in basic stages ready for me to draw bigger on the wall tomorrow. There will be someone taking pictures of the whole thing so watch this space!

doodle.book

Few more sketches from a small book I've taken to carrying everywhere with me now, the first image is a doodle of the queen of hearts linkeing to the next image which is a quick idea for a wall mural that I may be doing if all goes well. The last image is me mix-matching animals in the thought process of the artists in the park event.

Sketchy.Thinking

Just a couple of sketches to show my idea's and thinking behind stuff. These were for the Artists in the park event that is coming up shortly, just quick sketches but the idea is mixing and matching animals. The top image is a Woose ( whale moose ) strangely big headed fish like with a moose nose and legs. The second image is a bird I've created to be overly proportional and look cute with the big eyes and curved shape.

KFC....kinda.

I'm drawing anything that springs to mind just to keep my illustration going, i'm thinking of doing a few more images like this to purely take the micky out of brands and adverts.

Only.The.Beggining

Tomorrow is the start of the final exhibition at Hull College and also the start of us all being illustrators instead of students. Allot of work, blood, guts and tears have been put in to my years at college especially on the putting together of this final show. Mostly because things keep falling of walls, breaking and just being annoying, but over all I think I have learnt a lot of new skills both artistic and professionally, I have come a long way in confidence from when I first started and have become better then I ever thought I would.
So I would like to say a final thank you to all my friends at college for inspiring and encouraging me to improve my self and my art, I hope you all do well in the future and get creating as much artistic chaos as you possibly can!

To.Stick.Or.Not.To.Stick

I think I finaly have my frames on the wall, after many falls and re-attaching parts I ended up using industrial strength double sided foam roll and no more nails tape. They all seem to be in order now, still on the wall as far as I know, but the sun and the heat of the room seemed to be melting the adhesive on some walls so it's just a matter of chance that they all stay on the wall. I'm going to arm myself with a heap of double sided tape when the exhibition is going on. :)

Still on the topic of my exhibition space, I had my chat with the external examiner today and I think it went really well, I had a clear mind the whole time, managed to talk about and show a lot more then I did with just the tutors.
