.Sketch.Book.Page.

Another page filled in my 'Sketch Book Project'.
I call this picture 'Catching Stars' or dreams.. what ever you like the glowing orbs to represent, it's ment to give the messege about capturing precious moments that can be magical.
This image is done in all acrylic paint, and this time i didn't make the mistake of closing the book when it was still wet

.Peace.Hoodie.

I've started once again on my Hoodie character, this one is inspired by Peace and War. Once i'd finished this image and added the 'aged' look I thought it would look good on a t'shirt so I'm going to look in to that later on.

.compertition.line.drawing.

Compertition stuff.

This is the line drawing for a small competition on Deviantart.com. The competition is inspire by James and the Giant Peach and asks for people to create a peaceful hide away from the world. The one I've created is sort of a cave/underground tree thing which when coloured properly will have lots of texture on it to give it that extra effect.

.Final.Image.

The finished first image of the Frog Prince story, 'The Daughters' this image is called. I'm not happy with the girl at the front, her posture went a bit wrong and the dress looks weird, but the rest of it's good for the amount of time it's taken me to paint! Anyways on to designing image two! 'The Golden Ball'.

.Stage.Two.

Stage two, work in progress this stage only has the different of the skin tone on it and a bit more detail on the stones and vines.

.The.Daughters - stage.one.

Today I started illustrating the Brothers Grimm story 'The Frog Prince' and as i usualy do simple drawings for stories this time I've decided to go all out and do detailed water colour pictures for each bit along with snazzy border. This is the start of the first image, the sentance says "Once upon a time, when wishes still came true, there lived a king who had beautiful daughters. The youngest was so lovely that even the sun, which had seen so many things, was filled with wonder when it shone upon her face."
The story doesn't specify how many daughters it just says 'daughters' so I've gone for three. This stage has already taken me at least 2 hours, it's all water colour but the border was painted in sections then layered up and placed digitaly.

.Toads.

The last week has been a hectic rush of design work and painting of toads! Not real ones...that would be illegal...no! they are small ceramic toads made to be presented to the Clipper Race 2010 teams from around the world. I chose to design one for Scotland because I think the place is ace and I like the historical feel it has to it.

I submitted my designs and the stone coloured one got chosen to be made (with a few adjustments) I posted a picture of my design a few posts ago on here. I got told about the who's thing last Thursday and had to have my designs in by the next day so it was quick sketching!

Then I was told I had to be in and painting the toad on Wednesday, so yesterday and today I've been working on that, the design ended up looking like a granite texture so it took forever to get the tones and colours right but in the end I'm proud of it :)
There is no pictures right now but I'm working on getting some bare with me!

This is the second idea i had for the Scottish clipper race toad. Traditional tartan pattern but using the colours from the clipper boat and the Scottish flag (in gradient).

.Mini.Toad.

I was asked to create a design for a smaller toad which will be given as one of the trophies at the Clipper Race 2010. I chose the team from Scotland and as inspiration for this one design i have looked at the castle stone effect maybe slightly gargoyal'ish with the added patters and emblems of Scotland. I'm planning on more designs as I type.
